Khusus untuk be am, question tag-nya adalah am I not (formal) atau aren’t I (in speaking) jika negatif, atau am I jika positif. Lihat contoh: 14 & 15.

But, in order to avoid this kind of confusion,  I should have written the less formal version, as well

  • I am included, am I not? (formal)
  • I am included, aren’t I ? (less formal)

Sekedar tambahan, if clause (i.e. if + past tense), tidak selalu diikuti oleh past future (i.e. S + would/should/could + verb1).
Contoh:

  1. If I had wings, I flew high.
  2. If I had enough money, I married you now.

Di kedua contoh ini, if clause diikuti oleh past tense. Tapi, kalimat seperti ini sudah sangat, sangat jarang digunakan sekarang. Yang umum digunakan adalah seperti telah didiskusikan di topik yang dilink oleh Igor sebelumnya,

  1. If I had wings, I would fly high.
  2. If I had enough money, I would marry you now.

Bagaimana bentuk kalimat tanya-nya? Karena yang ditanyakan adalah hal yang di main clause, maka kalimat tanya dibentuk dengan menginversi auxiliary di main clause, bukan yang di if clause.

  1. If you had wings, would you fly high?
  2. Would you fly high if you had wings?
  3. If I had enough money now, would you marry me?
  4. Would you marry me if I had enough money now?
