Saya agak bingung dengan penggunaan GONNA dan WANNA.
-Â Celesta -
ANSWER:
A. GONNA
Gonna merupakan kontraksi (penggabungan) dari GOING TO yang kita jumpai di simple future tense:
- S + BE GOING TO + VERB1 + …
Kalau kita ganti GOING TO dengan GONNA, maka polanya menjadi:
- S + BE GONNA + VERB1 + …
Kalau kalimat formalnya adalah sebagai berikut:
- I am going to go to bed.
- He is going to meet you tomorrow.
- You are going to be his girlfriend, aren’t you?
Kalimat informalnya adalah:
- I’m gonna go to bed.
- He’s gonna meet you tomorrow.
- You’re gonna be his girlfriend, aren’t you?.
NOTE: Selain digunakan dalam simple future tense, GONNA juga digunakan dalam future continuous tense, past future tense, past future continuous tense.
Contoh:
- He’s gonna be studying at 7 tonight.
- They were gonna play football yesterday afternoon but they weren’t playing because of rain.
- I was gonna be watching Bayern Munich vs Lion match at 3 this morning but I wasn’t watching because I fell asleep.
B. WANNA
Wanna merupakan kontraksi (penggabungan) dari WANT TO dan WANT A yang kita jumpai di simple present tense:
- S + WANT TO + VERB1 + …
- S + WANT + A + SINGULAR NOUN…
Kalau kita ganti WANT TO dan WANT A dengan WANNA, maka secara berturut-turut polanya menjadi:
- S + WANNA + VERB1 + …
- S + WANNA + SINGULAR NOUN…
NOTE:
a. Apapun subject kalimatnya, WANNA tidak pernah diimbuhi -s.
b. Verb setelah WANNA selalu dalam bentuk verb1 (kata kerja dasar tanpa TO).
c. Jika WANNA tidak diikuti oleh verb (atau jika diikuti oleh adjective atau noun), jangan lupa sisipkan BE (just BE; bukan is, am atau are).
Contoh:
Kalau kalimat formalnya adalah sebagai berikut:
- I want to go to bed now.
- He wants to meet you tomorrow.
- You want to be his girlfriend, don’t you?.
- She wants a car.
Kalimat informalnya adalah:
- I wanna go to bed now.
- He wanna meet you tomorrow.
- You wanna be his girlfriend, don’t you?.
- She wanna car.
C. GOTTA
Gotta merupakan kontraksi (penggabungan) dari GOT TO yang kita jumpai di present perfect tense dan simple past tense:
- S + HAVE/HAS GOT TO + VERB1 + …
- S + GOT TO + VERB1….
Kalau kita ganti GOT TO dengan GOTTA, maka polanya menjadi:
- S + HAVE/HAS GOTTA + VERB1 + …
- S + GOTTA + VERB1….
NOTE:
a. HAVE dan HAS umumnya dikontraksi dengan subject kalimat.
b. Verb setelah GONNA selalu dalam bentuk verb1 (kata kerja dasar tanpa TO).
c. Jika GOTTA tidak diikuti oleh verb (jika diikuti oleh adjective atau noun), jangan lupa sisipkan BE (just BE; bukan is, am atau are).
Contoh:
Kalau kalimat normalnya adalah sebagai berikut:
- IÂ have got to go to bed now.
- He has got to meet you tomorrow.
- You have got to be his girlfriend, haven’t you?
- She got to study now.
Kalimat informalnya adalah:
- I’ve gotta go to bed now.
- He’s gotta meet you tomorrow.
- You’ve gotta be his girlfriend, haven’t you?
- She gotta study now.
NOTE: Penggunaan GOTTA lainnya dapat dibaca di: Penggunaan GET, GOT, GOT/GOTTEN.

Kayaknya beda deh antara JAGO dengan GAUL. Kalau, misalnya, you ngomong ke saya dengan menggunakan kata-kata seperti “culun, ember, beleng, cupu, dst.”, kayaknya tidak ada impresion di mata saya bahwa you JAGO berbahasa Indonesia.

Hi Win,
“She got to study now” is a less formal way of saying “She has got to study now“, which is also informal. Here, although the former uses verb2 and the latter uses present perfect form, the expressions “got to” and “has got to” have the same meaning as “must” or have to“, which is used to express “keharusan” either at present or, can also be, in future time.
